Job Purpose:

The primary objective of this role is to deliver exceptional customer service, establishing the bank as the preferred financial partner.

This involves efficient and cost-effective customer engagement, with a focus on client relations, customer service, operations, liability buildup, cross-sales at the designated branch, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  1. Engage with customers daily to build up Current Account/Savings Account/Term Deposit portfolios and cross-sell assets and wealth products.
  2. Meet assigned business targets according to the performance scorecard.
  3. Provide need-based product solutions aligned with client requirements and business specifics.
  4. Assess customer propensity for higher product penetration per relationship.
  5. Generate references for additional business from existing customers.
  6. Resolve customer queries and complaints promptly, adhering to a customer-focused approach.
  7. Ensure compliance with banking regulations and policies, including Anti Money Laundering, Know Your Customer (KYC), and Data & Information security.
  8. Assist in the closure of audit report observations.
  9. Manage client relationships and provide customer services related to retail banking operations.
  10. Act as the custodian of the branch vault, overseeing vault limits.
  11. Supervise all cash and non-cash transactions, such as DD/MC, fund transfers, etc.
  12. Regularly update key registers and review branch reports, including end-of-day (EOD) cash position reports and issued instruments.
  13. Monitor dummy accounts, suspense accounts, deferred accounts, accounts payable/receivable, reconciliation, and maintain suspense accounts register as required.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Perform audits to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations and guidelines.
  • Provide best-in-class customer service to establish the bank as the preferred banking partner.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Graduate – Any
  • Post Graduate – Any

Experience:

0-4 years of relevant experience in Banking or allied businesses.

Responsibilities:

  1. Cash Handling: One of the primary responsibilities of a Teller is handling various financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and currency exchanges. Accuracy and attention to detail are paramount to ensure the integrity of the customer’s account and the bank’s financial records.
  2. Customer Service: Tellers are frontline representatives of the bank, interacting with customers on a daily basis. They assist customers in understanding banking services, resolving account issues, and providing general information. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are key to building positive customer relationships.
  3. Processing Transactions: Beyond cash transactions, Tellers are also responsible for processing checks, money orders, and other financial instruments. They ensure that all transactions comply with banking regulations and internal policies.
  4. Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of transactions is a critical aspect of the Teller’s role. This involves updating account information, reconciling cash drawers, and generating reports to track daily activities.
  5. Product Knowledge: Tellers need a comprehensive understanding of the bank’s products and services to effectively guide customers. This knowledge enables them to suggest appropriate financial solutions, such as savings accounts, certificates of deposit, or other banking products.
