Eligibility Criteria for Junior Reporter Position

Educational Qualification:

As of March 14, 2024, candidates must fulfill the following educational requirements:

  1. Plus 2 with Tamil as one of the Subjects: Applicants must have successfully completed their higher secondary education with Tamil as one of their subjects.
  2. Government Technical Examination in English Shorthand: Candidates should have passed the Government Technical Examination in English Shorthand at either the Higher Grade or Senior Grade level, demonstrating proficiency at a minimum speed of 120 words per minute.
  3. Government Technical Examination in English Typewriting: Successful completion of the Government Technical Examination in English Typewriting at the Higher Grade or Senior Grade level is mandatory. Candidates must exhibit typing skills at a speed of at least 45 words per minute.
  4. Working Knowledge in Tamil Shorthand: Proficiency in Tamil Shorthand is essential for applicants.
  5. Computer Proficiency: Candidates must possess sufficient working knowledge of computers for daily office tasks.

Age Limit:

As of July 1, 2023, the age criteria for applicants are as follows:

  • For SC / ST / SC(A) Candidates: Between 18 to 37 Years.
  • For BC / BC(M) / MBC/DC Candidates: Between 18 to 34 Years.
