Vacancies Offered:

The NHAI is looking to fill a total of 38 positions across nine different specializations:

• Principal DPR Expert (5 Posts): These experts will lead the creation of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) – comprehensive documents outlining the feasibility, design, and implementation plans for highway projects. They will require extensive experience in project implementation and DPR preparation within the National Highway domain.
• Senior Highway Expert (5 Posts): Senior Highway Experts will provide high-level guidance on highway engineering principles and practices. They should possess a strong background in civil engineering with a post-graduate degree in construction management or highway engineering, coupled with over 15 years of relevant experience.
• Road Safety Expert (5 Posts): Road Safety Experts will champion initiatives to minimize accidents and ensure smooth traffic flow. They must hold a civil engineering degree with a post-graduation in transportation engineering and successfully complete a 15-day Road Safety Audit Course from a MoRTH-approved institute.
• Traffic Expert (5 Posts): Traffic Experts will analyze traffic patterns and propose solutions to optimize road usage and reduce congestion. They should hold a civil engineering degree with a relevant post-graduation in traffic engineering, transportation engineering, or transportation planning, along with over 15 years of experience.
• Environment/Forest Specialist (5 Posts): Environment/Forest Specialists will ensure compliance with environmental regulations and minimize the ecological impact of highway projects. A civil or environmental engineering degree with a post-graduation in environmental engineering/sciences, and over 15 years of relevant experience, is required.
• Land Acquisition Expert (5 Posts): Land Acquisition Experts will oversee the legal and administrative aspects of land acquisition for highway development. While a graduation in any field is acceptable, a post-graduation in law is preferred, with over 15 years of relevant experience.
• Geotechnical Expert (5 Posts): Geotechnical Experts will assess the soil and rock characteristics along the proposed highway routes. A civil engineering degree with a master’s in foundation engineering, soil mechanics, or a Ph.D. in geology/geo-tech engineering, is required. Additionally, attending a minimum 6-day training course on “Preparation of Feasibility Study and DPR for Highway Projects” conducted by a MoRTH-approved institute is mandatory.
• Bridge Expert (2 Posts): Bridge Experts will provide specialized knowledge in bridge design, construction, and maintenance. They must hold a civil engineering degree with a post-graduation in structural engineering or bridge engineering, and possess over 15 years of relevant experience.
• Tunnel Expert (1 Post): The lone Tunnel Expert will offer specialized knowledge for planning, designing, and constructing tunnels for highway projects. Similar to Bridge Experts, they need a civil engineering degree with a post-graduation in structural engineering, and over 15 years of relevant experience.

Eligibility Criteria:

For all positions, candidates must be Indian citizens and possess the educational qualifications mentioned above as of July 18th, 2024. Additionally, all positions, except Geotechnical Expert (10 years), require a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience. Furthermore, all experts are expected to be proficient in using the latest technology and tools within their respective fields.

Age Limit:

The maximum age limit for all positions is 65 years.

Salary Details:

The NHAI offers competitive salaries based on the position. Here’s a breakdown:

• Principal DPR Expert: Rs. 6.00 Lakhs per annum
• Senior Highway Expert, Bridge Expert, Tunnel Expert: Rs. 5.50 Lakhs per annum
• Road Safety Expert, Traffic Expert: Rs. 4.50 Lakhs per annum
• Environment/Forest Specialist, Land Acquisition Expert, Geotechnical Expert: Rs. 2.30 Lakhs per annum
