The National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disabilities (NIEPMD) has announced vacancies for the following positions:

1. Assistant Professor (Special Education) (Consultant)
2. Lecturer Occupational Therapy (Consultant)
3. Prosthetist & Orthotist (Consultant)
4. Clinical Assistant (Speech Therapist) (Consultant)
5. Clerk/Typist (Consultant)
6. Total – Various

Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualifications:

1. Assistant Professor (Special Education) (Consultant): Essential: Master’s degree with M. Ed (Special Education) from any RCI-recognized institution, along with a minimum of 5 years of teaching/research experience in the relevant field. Ph.D. in the rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities is desirable.
2. Lecturer Occupational Therapy (Consultant): Essential: Master’s in Occupational Therapy from a recognized institute, with a minimum of 3 years of teaching/research experience in the field of rehabilitation. Possession of any RCI-recognized qualification is desirable.
3. Prosthetist & Orthotist (Consultant): Essential: Degree in Prosthetics & Orthotics from a recognized institute, registration with RCI, and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
4. Clinical Assistant (Speech Therapist) (Consultant): Essential: B.Sc. (Sp. & Hg.) or equivalent, 2 years of relevant experience, and registration with RCI.
5. Clerk/Typist (Consultant): Essential: Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent qualification, typing speed of 35 wpm with computer knowledge, and a minimum of 2 years of experience in the concerned area.

Age Limit: Not exceeding 56 years as of 15.02.2024, with age relaxation as per Government Rules.

Salary Details:

1. Assistant Professor (Special Education) (Consultant): Rs. 75,000/-
2. Lecturer Occupational Therapy (Consultant): Rs. 60,000/-
3. Prosthetist & Orthotist (Consultant): Rs. 50,000/-
4. Clinical Assistant (Speech Therapist) (Consultant): Rs. 50,000/-
5. Clerk/Typist (Consultant): Rs. 25,000/-

Selection Process:

NIEPMD will conduct a selection process involving a Merit List and Interview.

Application Fee:

Applicants for the specified positions must enclose an application fee of Rs. 500/- in the form of a Demand Draft favoring Director, NIEPMD, payable at Chennai. SC/ST/PwDs and female candidates are exempt from paying the application fee.

How to Apply:

The duly filled application form, supported by self-attested photocopies, should be submitted within 30 days from the publication of the advertisement in Employment News to the Director, National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disabilities (Divyangjan), Muttukadu, East Coast Road, Kovalam Post, Chengalpattu Dist., Chennai – 603 112, Tamil Nadu.
