Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

1. Dy Chief Legal Aid Defense Counsel:

• At least seven years of practice in Criminal Law
• Excellent understanding of Criminal Law
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Proficiency in legal research and thorough understanding of ethical duties of Defense Counsel
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently with others
• Must have handled at least 20 Criminal trials in Sessions Court
• IT Knowledge with proficiency in work

2. Assistant Legal Aid Defense Counsel:

• Minimum 1 to 3 years of practice in Criminal Law
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Complete understanding of ethical duties of Defense Counsel
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently with others
• Excellent writing and research skills
• IT Knowledge with proficiency in work  

3. Office Assistant/Clerk:

• Graduation
• Basic word processing skills and the ability to operate a computer
• Typing speed of 40 WPM
• Ability to take dictation and enter data
• Knowledge of file maintenance and processing

4. Office Peon (Munshi/Attendant):

• Pass 8th or 10th Standard
• Capability to clean and perform hospitality-related tasks
• Ability to clean the office before the commencement of office hours
• Willingness to perform any other tasks assigned by the Legal Services Authority

Salary Details

• Deputy Chief Legal Aid Defense Counsel: Rs. 40,000/-
• Assistant Legal Aid Defense Counsel: Rs. 25,000/-
• Office Assistant/Clerk: Rs. 15,000/-
• Office Peon (Munshi/Attendant): Rs. 12,000/-
