Oversee the credit risk management framework of the bank.Contribute to the development and implementation of the bank’s overall business strategy.Who We Are Looking For:Proven track record of success in a senior credit management role.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

In-depth knowledge of credit risk management principles.Ability to lead and motivate a team of professionals.A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (MBA preferred).Minimum of 10 years of experience in the banking industry, with a focus on credit managementStrong understanding of the Indian financial system and regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement comprehensive credit policies and procedures that align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. Lead the formulation of the bank’s credit strategy to achieve optimal portfolio growth and profitability.
• Credit Portfolio Management: Oversee all aspects of credit analysis, approval, and monitoring. Guide a team of credit professionals in evaluating loan applications across various sectors including corporate, retail, export, agriculture, and MSME.
• Risk Management: Implement robust credit risk management practices to ensure portfolio health and mitigate potential risks. Stay current on industry trends and regulatory changes in the credit landscape.
• Team Management: Foster a culture of excellence within the credit department by providing effective leadership and mentorship to credit professionals. Motivate and empower the team to achieve departmental goals.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with other bank departments (e.g., Finance, Operations, Compliance) to ensure seamless credit management processes.
• Reporting: Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports on credit performance, risk metrics, and portfolio health to senior management.

Qualifications:

• Education: A bachelor’s degree (preferably an MBA) in Finance, Accounting, or a related field from a recognized university. A Certificate in Credit Professional course is desirable.
• Experience: A minimum of 15 years of experience in banking or financial services, with at least 4 years specifically focused on credit management in a senior leadership role at a Deputy General Manager (DGM) level or above within a public or private sector scheduled commercial bank.
• Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team. In-depth knowledge of credit risk management principles and practices. Proficiency in financial analysis and modeling.  
• Industry Knowledge: A deep understanding of the Indian financial system, regulatory environment, and credit market trends. Familiarity with various credit products and processes across corporate, retail, export, agriculture, and MSME sectors is highly desirable.
• Personal Qualities: A strong work ethic, integrity, and a results-oriented mindset. Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
