Who Can Apply?

To be eligible for these positions, candidates must meet the following educational qualifications:

• Level-2 (A):
  • 12th (+2 stage) or its equivalent examination with at least 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized board.
  • Exemption from Minimum Marks: This requirement is waived for SC/ST/ PWD/ Ex-servicemen applicants or those possessing a higher qualification (Graduate/Post Graduate) from a recognized university.
  • Additional Requirement (Clerk-Typist): If appointed to the Clerk-Typist category, typing proficiency of 30 wpm in English or 25 wpm in Hindi is mandatory within two years of appointment. Until this proficiency is achieved, the appointment will be considered provisional.
• Level-2 (B):
  • 10th Class pass with a completed Act Apprenticeship/ITI course approved by SCVT/NCVT for Technician Grade-III in Level 2.
• Level-1:
  • 10th pass with either:
    • National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT
    • ITI certificate (for Civil Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical and S&T department and Catering wing)
    • National Apprenticeship Certificate granted by NCVT

Special Consideration for Scouts & Guides:

For both Level-2 and Level-1 positions, candidates with a background in Scouting and Guiding have an advantage:

• Scouting/Guiding Experience:
  • Hold the prestigious President Scout/Rover/Guide/Ranger title OR be a Himalayan Wood Badge holder in any section.
  • Active participation in a Scouts organization for the past five years (2019-2024 onwards). Dual membership in state associations is not permitted. A certificate of active membership as per Annexure A is mandatory.
  • Participation in a minimum of two events at the National Level OR All Indian Railways’ level and two events at the State level as per Annexure B.

Age Limit:

The age limit for applying is calculated as of October 19th, 2024:

• Level-2: 18 to 30 years
• Level-1: 18 to 33 years

Age relaxation is applicable for certain categories:

• SC/ST Candidates: 5 years
• OBC Candidates: 3 years
• Ex-Servicemen Candidates: As per Government Policy

Salary Details:

The positions come with attractive salaries:

• Level-2: Rs.19,900-63,200/-
