Responsibilities

  1. Maximizing Insurance Reimbursement:
    • Strive to maximize insurance reimbursements for healthcare practice owners by effectively managing the medical insurance claims process.
    • Ensure all claims are filed accurately and in a timely manner, contributing to financial stability and profitability for healthcare providers.
  2. Analyzing Claim Issues:
    • Identify and investigate root causes of medical insurance claim denials, underpayments, or delays.
    • Use analytical skills to detect patterns and issues that hinder successful claim processing.
  3. Insurance Carrier Interaction:
    • Proactively engage with US-based insurance carriers to follow up on claims that remain unpaid or are subject to delayed processing.
    • Address instances of underpayment, ensuring all payments are consistent with the agreed terms.
  4. Appealing Denials:
    • Plan, manage, and execute the appeal process for denied claims.
    • Prepare well-documented appeals to ensure a higher rate of overturns and successful claim outcomes.
  5. Data Correction:
    • Work closely with US-based practice owners and clinicians to identify and rectify missing or incorrect data on insurance claims.
    • Facilitate seamless communication to ensure the submission of accurate and complete claims.
  6. Payment Posting:
    • Accurately post charges and payments into the system.
    • Ensure the reconciliation of accounts to reflect precise financial records.

Qualifications

  1. Experience:
    • 0 to 1 year of experience in US-based data entry and payment posting.
  2. Industry Knowledge:
    • Familiarity with the US medical insurance industry and the claims processing cycle.
    • In-depth knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPC codes.
    • Understanding of CMS-1500 and UB-04 claim formats.
  3. Specialized Skills:
    • Experience with Personal Injury Protection (PIP) claims is an added advantage.
    • Familiarity with specialties such as chiropractic, physical therapy, and mental/behavioral health is advantageous.
    • Proficiency in Vericle software is a plus.
  4. Core Competencies:
    • Strong listening, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    • Self-motivated and capable of working independently to meet deadlines and deliver results.

  1. Work Shift Compatibility:
    • High comfort level working during the Eastern Time Zone (US Shift).
  2. Technical Setup:
    • Access to reliable internet service at home.
    • Availability of a mobile hotspot as a backup.
    • Laptop or desktop computer with a minimum of 8 GB RAM.
