Responsibilities and Contributions

As a Ship Design Assistant (Mechanical), you will play a pivotal role in supporting the design team. Your responsibilities will encompass a range of tasks, including:

• Drafting and Modifying Mechanical Drawings: You will actively participate in creating and revising technical drawings for various ship components using computer-aided design (CAD) software. This will involve meticulous attention to detail and a strong understanding of mechanical symbols and conventions.

Essential:

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering: A three-year diploma in mechanical engineering with a minimum of 60% marks from a recognized State Board of Technical Education is mandatory.
• Experience in Mechanical Engineering: A minimum of two years’ experience working in a shipyard, engineering company, government/semi-government establishment, private design firm, or a commercial establishment with a mechanical engineering focus is essential.

Desirable:

• Prior Experience in Ship Design: While not mandatory, previous experience in ship design would be highly advantageous. Knowledge of relevant software applications and familiarity with ship design principles would be a significant asset.
• Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Your ability to analyze complex mechanical systems, identify potential issues, and develop effective solutions will be crucial.
• Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are key to fostering collaboration within the design team and ensuring clear communication of technical information.
• Teamwork & Independent Work: The ability to work effectively as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative and taking ownership of tasks is essential.

Compensation and Benefits

HCSL offers a competitive compensation package that is commensurate with experience. The starting salary for the position is Rs. 24,400/- in the first year, with annual increments leading to Rs. 25,900/- in the third year. The Selection Process
