- Group ‘C’ Sports Quota: 21 Posts
- Group ‘D’ Sports Quota: 43 Posts
These positions are spread across three levels with varying educational qualifications:
- Level 5/4 (7th PC): Highest level offered, requiring a bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
- Level 3/2 (7th PC): Requires Class 12th pass OR 10th pass with additional qualifications like Act Apprenticeship, ITI diploma (NCVT/SCVT), or Diploma in any field.
- Level 1 (7th PC): Minimum qualification is Class 10th pass. However, a Diploma or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) from NCVT can be advantageous.
Eligibility Criteria:
Not just any athlete can apply. To be considered, you need to meet both the educational and sports achievement criteria.
Educational Qualification: As mentioned above, the required education varies depending on the level you’re applying for.
Sports Achievements: This is where your athletic achievements come into play. However, only accomplishments between April 1st, 2022, and the date of notification will be considered. Additionally, you must be an active sportsperson.
The minimum sports achievements required for each level are as follows:
Level 5/4:
- Elite Achievement: Represented India in the Olympic Games (Senior Category).
- High Achievement: Secured at least 3rd position in World Cup (Junior/Youth/Senior), World Championships (Junior/Senior), Asian Games (Senior), Commonwealth Games (Senior), Youth Olympics, Champions Trophy (Hockey), or Thomas/Uber Cup (Badminton).
Level 3/2:
- National/International Recognition: Represented India in World Cup/Championships/Asian Games/Commonwealth Games/Youth Olympics OR secured at least 3rd position in Commonwealth Championships (Junior/Senior), Asian Championships/Asia Cups (Junior/Senior), South Asian Federation Games (Senior), USIC (World Railways) Championships (Senior), or World University Games.
- National Level Achievements: At least 3rd position in Senior/Youth/Junior National Championships, National Games under the Indian Olympic Association, All India Inter University Championships under the Association of Indian Universities, or 1st position in Federation Cup Championships (Senior category).
Level 1:
- National/Regional Participation: Represented your state or equivalent in Commonwealth Championships, Asian Championships, South Asian Federation Games, USIC (World Railways) Championships, or World University Games.
- National Level Achievements: Secured at least 3rd position in Federation Cup Championships (Senior category) OR represented a state or equivalent with at least 8th position in Senior National Championships.
Age Limit: As of January 1st, 2025, applicants must be between 18 and 25 years old.
Selection Process:
Your application will be evaluated based on three factors:
- Sports Achievements: Your past accomplishments hold significant weight in the selection process.
- Game Skill, Physical Fitness and Coach’s Observation During Trials: You’ll have a chance to showcase your skills and physical condition during trials. This will be closely monitored by coaches, who will provide their feedback.
- Educational Qualification: While not the primary focus, your educational qualification will also be considered.
