Applications are invited for various positions at ICMR-NITM. Check out the details below:

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Scientist B (Medical)

• Essential: MBBS/BDS/B.V.Sc. & AH recognized by MCI/DCI/VCI respectively OR BDS/B.V.Sc degree with one year experience
  • Desirable: Two years R&D/Teaching experience in relevant subject after obtaining essential qualification. Additional research/training experience in Outbreak investigation/Public Health/Epidemiology/Virology/Diagnostics/Infectious disease. Knowledge of Computer Applications or Business Intelligence tools/Data Management. MD/PhD in the related subject from a recognized university/institute. (MD/MDS/M.V.Sc degree in relevant subjects equivalent to three years’ experience)

• Scientist B (Non-Medical)

• Essential: 1st class Master’s degree in Life Sciences from a recognized university OR 2nd class Master’s degree with Ph.D. degree in Life Sciences from a recognized university
  • Desirable: Two years R & D experience in relevant subject after obtaining essential qualification. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in virology/microbiology/molecular diagnostics/genetics related laboratory work, NABL accreditation process, outbreak investigation, and knowledge of computer applications. (PhD degree in relevant subjects equivalent to three years’ experience)

• Research Assistant

• Essential: MSc in Microbiology/Virology/Genetics/Molecular biology/Biotechnology/Two years’ experience in relevant subject after obtaining essential qualification.
  • Desirable: Preference for candidates with experience in biomedical waste management, maintenance of medical laboratory equipment, virology/molecular diagnostics/genetics related laboratory work, NABL accreditation process, and knowledge of computer applications.

• Laboratory Technician

• Essential: B.Sc./Intermediate with diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology
  • Desirable: Two years’ experience in relevant subject after obtaining essential qualification. Preference for candidates with experience in medical laboratory equipment, virology/molecular diagnostics/genetics related laboratory work, NABL accreditation process, and knowledge of computer applications.

• Data Entry Operator

• Essential: Graduate from a recognized University with knowledge of data entry work.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of Computer Applications with good typing skills for data entry work. Experience in data entry in a medical diagnostic laboratory, store and inventory management. Independent communication skills in English language with knowledge of GEM & following up physical e-file notings in Government/PSU/Healthcare industry sector. A speed test of not less than 8000 key depressions per hour through speed test.

• Multi-Tasking Staff

• Essential: High School/Matric/equivalent from a recognized board.
  • Desirable: One–two years of experience or recommendation of working in clinical laboratories in the past. Knowledge of infection control & handling of Biomedical waste. Higher qualification & experience more than the essential qualification in the relevant discipline will be an advantage for shortlisting.

Age Limit:

• Scientist B (Medical) – 35 Years
• Scientist B (Non-Medical) – 35 Years
• Research Assistant – 30 years
• Laboratory Technician – 30 years
• Data Entry Operator – 28 years
• Multi-Tasking Staff – 25 years

Note: Age relaxation applicable as per Govt. rules.

Salary Details:

1. Scientist B (Medical) – Rs. 56,000/- plus HRA per month
2. Scientist B (Non-Medical) – Rs. 56,000/- plus HRA per month
3. Research Assistant – Rs. 35,000/- per month
4. Laboratory Technician – Rs. 20,000/- plus HRA per month
5. Data Entry Operator – Rs. 20,000/- plus HRA per month
6. Multi-Tasking Staff – Rs. 18,000/- per month

Selection Process:

ICMR-NITM will follow a two-step process:

1. Walk-in for Skill Test
2. Interview
